Freelancer or employee — who decides which model applies?
The work does, not the preference. Where an engagement looks like employment — fixed hours, your direction, your equipment, no other clients — a contractor arrangement is the wrong container for it and we will say so. Talent in our network can be engaged either way through our Indian partner, so the model can follow the reality rather than the other way round.
Is there a Scheinselbstständigkeit risk for us?
The classification question that German law asks is about the working relationship, so it is worth answering deliberately rather than assuming the contract settles it. Our freelancers are contracted in India through our partner and work remotely from India, which is a different setup from engaging a local contractor in Germany. We are happy to walk your legal team through the arrangement before you sign anything.
How are freelancers billed?
Hourly or daily against approved time, on one monthly invoice from JoinNow FZCO in EUR, USD, or AED. There is no placement fee and no separate agency commission — the rate you agree is the rate you are invoiced.
Who owns the work a freelancer produces?
You do. Every contract includes an IP assignment clause covering the work product, which is one of the reasons the engagement runs through our contracts rather than a direct arrangement you would have to paper yourself.
Can a freelancer move to an employed model later?
Yes, and it happens often when a short engagement turns into ongoing work. Talent in our network can be employed or contract independently through our Bangalore partner, so switching is an administrative change rather than a new search.
